AGM
The Senior one will be held on the 16th January at Kilcommon Community Centre at 8.30 sharp and we would welcome nominations for officers, managers and any motions. Please forward to Pat Carr Secretary in writing by Wednesday 14th to Knockmaroe, Kilcommon, Thurles. Young and old are welcome. 

Juveniles
Sean Treacys Juvenile AGM will was held on Friday 9th January 2009 in Kilcommon Community Centre and the adjourned convention will take place at the same venue on the 23rd January.
Following a year when the Juvenile club won two West trophies and a County title in 2008 there was much enthusiasm for this gathering.

The following officers were selected Chairman John Carey; Secretary not filled; Treasurer Ml Hanly; PRO Billy Carr; Selectors U6 & U8 John Sheldon, Martin Treacy, John Carey, Brian Spillane, Bett Maher and Eddy Spillane U10 Mike Ryan, John Lyons, Billy Carr and John McHugh U12&U14 John Carey, Phil Ryan C, Mike Ryan, Noel McMahon, John Lyons and Brendan O’Brien

U16 Gerry Carey and Padraig Hickey and Gerry to recruit the rest of his team. Congratulations to all of you in your positions for 2009 and thanks to John Lyons on a fantastic three years as Secretary he will be a hard act to follow. Well done to Seamus Carey who retires as PRO and is replaced by our new officer Billy Carr.  Some good ideas were proposed namely a newsletter will be produced every quarter, also a hurling wall will hopefully be completed and Managers will organise and inform their team of training, matches and other events throughout the year.

John Lyons delivered a comprehensive Secretary’s report. He congratulated our victorious teams, the U12s successful in the Hurling League and the B football shield and the U16s who won the U16C county football final. He congratulated the participants in the hurling and football primary school league and thanked Sean O’Brien Newport for presenting the medals to the winners. He listed the teams, times, venues and results of all the matches played by our super underage players. He complemented all involved in the U8 blitzes and challenges at local, west and county level. New goalposts were bought and thanks to Kevin Hally who kindly donated a range of equipment. A millions thanks to Michael and Bridgid Ryan Hollyford Stores who sponsored club fleeces to the juveniles. Two Gaelic football matches were played under lights in Rearcross and thanks to the soccer club for the use of their facilities during the year.

Well done to Eddy Spillane who ran the VHI GAA Cul Camp in the summer. Thanks to Kevin Hally on his fun do presentation, Denis Stapleton who did the school coaching last year and John McHugh who is currently the schools coach. He paid tribute to the players, parents, selectors, officers and anyone who helped out during the year. John rounded off his report thanking all those who contributed to the Church Gate collection which was used to purchase new underage equipment
