TÀIN ÒG U16 HURLING.

The U16 St. Dominic’s hurlers came out victorious on Sunday 19th May in Bekan.  They travelled to the Connacht Centre of Excellence for a day of brilliant hurling in hot conditions.  Their first game was against a strong Mayo side, St.Ciarans. This game was a battle from start to finish. The final score was St.Dominics 7.06 to St.Ciarans 5.08. The lads had to quickly tog out again to play their second game. This time they played another tough team from Sligo, Easkey.  This game was every bit as tough as the first. Easkey had fresh legs with this being their 1st game of the day. But the Dominics boys pulled together well with a great team effort to win out the Connacht competition. The final score was St Dominics 3.09, Easkey 3.05.Well done to the players and management on what was a successful Táin Òg competition. They are now Táin òg Connacht Champions 2024.

Tansey cup

Our Warm n Cosy Homes sponsored second team had a good win against Clann Na Gael B on Sunday in Knockcroghery. It leaves us in second place on the table and still unbeaten. The winning of the game was from the 10th-20th minute where we hit 1.05 to Clann’s 1 point. Caimin Boland helping himself to 1.3 in this period. Goal came from a penalty when Caimin was fouled in the square. Clann finished the half strongly with the 3 points to leave it 1.06 to 0.06 at Half time. It was an even second half and was only 2 points in it with a few minutes to go, but our defence held strong to keep the clean sheet. Best for Dominic’s were the two Lyons brothers, MJ O’Connor and Robbie Gately in midfield along with Caimin Boland who helped himself to 1.05. Full Time Dominics 1.11 to 0.12
