DEVELOPMENT
Our clubhouse is now almost complete with painting and last few bits being finished off. Fantastic to see it and if you haven’t had a chance to look around yet you are in for a treat and we will have a clubhouse that we can all be very proud of. With the LEADER grant and our development draw we are most of the way to having the clubhouse fully paid for, but still a bit to go.
Next up for fundraising is the St Brigids’s Gaa Bord na Mona Sponsored Golf Scramble on Friday, June 17th in Longford Golf Club. The scramble is a team of 4 event and costs €120 per team, with prizes for GUI members (golf club members) and teams made up of occasional , or even seldom golfers! So, get the word out and get your golfing buddies to enter a team. You can enter a team by contacting us on 0874084624 or by email to secretary.stbrigids.longford@gaa.ie . If golf is not your thing, you could sponsor a tee or a green for €100 , or if a family wished to donate towards the costs of the event they can contact us on that number or email. We look forward to your support for this event.
DIVISION 2 LEAGUE
Well done to our team who had a win last Saturday evening 14th May against Ardagh/Moydow on a score line of 1-12 to 2-10.
Our next game is Saturday next 21st May against our neighbours Cashel in Killashee at 7pm. Please come along on the evening and support. Admission on the gate is €5.00.
LONGFORD HURLERS
Best of luck to Longford hurlers who play Louth in The Lory Meagher Cup Final next Saturday 21st May in Croke Park at 12pm. We the club would like to wish our three clubmen Keelan Cox, David Buckley and Johnny Casey who captains the Longford hurling team the very best of luck in the final.
Hopefully the many training sessions on Killashee pitch every Tuesday evening will help the Longford hurlers bring home the silverware.
CUMANN NA mBUNSCOIL FINAL
Best of luck to Clondra National School who play in the Cumann Na mBunscoil Division 4A Final on Wednesday next 18th May at 5pm in Glennon Bros Pearse Park against Ballinamuck National School.
