On the sports front last weekend our junior hurlers suffered heartbreak when they were defeated in the county semi final by Mullinahone on a scoreline of 1-07 to 0-06. The lads were unlucky to concede a goal in injury time which proved to be the decisive score in the match. Up to that point the sides were level all through with both sides having chances to win it. It was hard defeat to take for all involved but they can take pride in winning the west final which was the first junior hurling title the club has won in more than fifty years.
That almost wraps up the GAA fixtures for the year. There is one more chance of another west title coming back to the club when our U/21 team play Aherlow in the west final. As of yet there is no fixture for the game as Aherlow are still involved in senior football and junior A hurling. At best the game will be on in three weeks but this could go back if Aherlow win the county senior football final.
Thats all folks-
