The draw for this week’s lotto took place yesterday evening
in the Bridge House. There was no winner of the jackpot prize of €13000 which
means that next weeks draw will be up to €13300. There was also no winner of the
€1000 jackpot draw. The numbers drawn were 8, 22, 24, 28

On the sports front the senior hurlers bowed out of the county championship to Killenaule on a scoreline of 1-21 to 0-11. Golden were well in the game at the half time, going in at the break only three points down but in the second half a different Killenaule emerged and they hurled at a faster pace. Our lads tried manfully to stay with them but in the finish came up against a superior side. That finishes the senior hurling campaign for the year, great credit is due to the lads who gave their all throughout the year.
The junior hurlers had a very good win last Friday night when they defeated a fancied Cashel side in Golden on a score line of 3-9 to 1-5. Cashel looked the better team in the first half and should have been ahead at the break but for several missed chances. In the second half however the Golden lads raised their game and looked far superior. They now are through to the west final for the second year running against Arravale. A date has not been fixed yet for the game.
This weekend coming the junior footballers face Rockwell Rovers in the west semi final in Bansha. The two sides drew earlier in the competition so a close game is expected again. Best of luck to all involved.
