The draw for this week’s lotto took place yesterday evening in
the Cornerstone. There was no winner of the jackpot prize of €10900 which means
that next weeks draw will be up to €11200.There was also no winner of the €1000

On the sports front the Golden seniors suffered a cruel
defeat in Cashel on Sunday night last when they bowed out of the west
championship to Clonoulty on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-11. It was a tough one to
swallow for the lads because for the first twenty five minutes of the first
half against the wind they matched Clonoulty in every department and were level
with five minutes to go to the break. However just before the half time whistle
blew Clonoulty banged in two goals against the run of play which was a killer
blow for our lads as they had played so well. To be fair to the lads they gave a
tremendous effort in the second half but it proved a bridge too far and
Clonoulty deserved their win. However its not all doom and gloom for the lads,
getting to the West Semi Finals was a great achievement given the injuries and
obstacles that the lads overcame, they are still in the last 16 of the county
championship which will be played in approx a months time and a win here could
put them into the last eight in the county.
Elsewhere the intermediate footballers are out this
weekend against Cashel on Saturday night in Tipp town. This is a must win game
for the lads if they are to qualify for the semi final stages of the west
championship. Last night they played Fermoy in a challenge below in the field
but they were short a number of regulars and went down by seven points. The
junior footballers play Lattin on the coming bank holiday Monday below in
Bansha.
