The Golden Kilfeacle Intermediate football team made it three wins out of 3 with a comprehensive 2-7 to 0-5 victory against lattin cullen in lattin last sunday. The team are playing superb football at present and have now qualified for the semi finals of the county league where they await the runners up from the other side. Right from the start Golden were in control of the game and should have been out of sight by half time. Sean Carr in the middle of the field and team captain Damien Fogarty were particularly dominant, constantly running at the poor ol lattin lads. Some fantastic points were kicked by both Damien and Rody Dwyer in particular, the great Gerald Fogarty also simulated a dive for a golden penalty but the resultant dead ball was kicked wide. Half time golden led 0-5 to 0-2 but should have been more ahead although Gavin Ryan did pull off a tremendous save in the goal. Early in the second half Golden killed off the challenge with an excellently taken goal by Shane Stapelton after a superb pass by Aiden Fogarty. Late in the game substitute Christopher Ryan got a seconf goal to put a more deserved look on the score board- final score golden 2-07 latin 0-5. The semi finals will not be for some weeks.

The U/21 footballers also had a fine victory in the first round against Clonoulty running out winners by 3-10 to 1-07. Golden were underdogs going into this came but tore into the clonoulty lads right from the start to record an excellent win. They now face Annacarthy possibly next weekend in what will be a very tough game.

The senior county league draw has also been made. The Golden senior hurlers have been drawn in a group with Ballybacon Grange, Carrick Swans and the the Kickhams. 1st games are due to start on March 15
