MENS NOTES:

Our seniors have qualified for the county final following their 4-14 to 0-2 victory over Milltown on Sunday.  In the other semi-final Barna and St Michael’s played out a 12 points each draw.

Under 15s defeated Caherlistrane on Sunday morning in the league.  We play Tuam Stars on Sunday next in Belclare at 12.00 pm.

The club hosted the annual Kevin Killeen Under 10 tournament in Belclare on Saturday.

Fintan and Eileen Killeen presented the cup to Annaghdown and the shield to Caherlistrane.

Thanks to all the clubs for attended tournament and making it such a great success on the day.  Thanks also to: Barry, Brian, Ciarán, Justin and Ollie for referring the tournament.  Thanks to all the parents for bringing refreshments and making the teas and coffees.

Under 8s travel to Ballyshannon on Saturday next where we play the local club Aodh Ruadh.

Bus leaves Corofin pitch at 8.30 am and we hope to return to Corofin at 6.00 pm on Saturday.

Under 6 training returns to Belclare this Saturday morning at 10.00 am.

We had three events taking place in our Prediction Quiz this weekend.  Kilkenny won the All-Ireland Hurling Final, Cork won the Ladies Football Final, while Europe won the Ryder Cup by 5 points.  This has resulted in our long time leader, JohnJoe Silke being overtaken.  Our new leader is Derek Ryder.

Only 12 players predicted a win for Europe by 5 points in the Ryder Cup.

Full details can be found on the club website.

The first of a series of CCDA monster quiz nights takes place in Gills this Saturday night commencing at 9.00 pm.   Get your team of 4 brain boxes together, for what we hope will be an enjoyable night.  So brush up on ‘trivial pursuit’ and dust down the cobwebs after our recent spell of good weather!  This will be a fun quiz with rounds featuring movies, sport, tv and radio, local knowledge and much more.

The club extends it sympathies to the Hanly family on the death of Joseph Hanly, RIP, Corofin.
