MENS NOTES:

Well done to our senior footballers who had a well merited win in the first round of the championship defeating Mountbellew-Moylough by 3-14 to 0-10.  Corofin goals came from Gary Sice (two) and Kieran McGrath.  Gary scored a total of 2-5 in a ‘man-of-the-match’ display.

Well done also to the intermediates on a good win by 0-16 to 1-8 over Williamstown.  Corofin scorers were: Alan O'Donovan 6 pts; Colm O'Donovan 5 pts; Kevin Murphy 2 pts; Oisín Mannion, Dylan Wall and Shane Monaghan 1 point each.

The seniors have been drawn to play Tuam Stars in the next round while the intermediates will play An Spidéal.  The games take place on the weekend of 28 and 29 June.

Congratulations to the Under 14 team on their fine victory over Barna in the County League Final played in Annaghdown GAA Grounds on Friday evening. Both teams played some excellent football but the greater skill, commitment and teamwork of the Corofin team proved decisive in the end winning on a scoreline of 5-10 to 4-10.  The winning panel consisted of Jake Hogan, Ciaran Melia, Rossa Ryan, Jason Gorham, Robert Carr, Dean Hynes, Adam Lowry, Joey Duggan, Matthew Fitzmaurice, Eoin Broderick, Jack McHugh, Sean Raftery, Ian Collins, Tony Gill, Matthew Cooley, David Cannon, Cian Gillespie, Jamie McIntyre, Darren O'Brien, Adam Hession, Colin Kelly, David Reilly and Andrew Burns.  Well done also to the Management Team of Richard Broderick, Gerry Collins, Frank Morris, Martin McNamara, Tommy Raftery and David Ryan.  The lads will not have much time to celebrate their victory as they are scheduled to play Claregalway in the first round of the championship away from home on Friday evening at 7.00pm.

Prediction Quiz cards are available from committee members and through the players.   Please support this essential fundraising drive.
