LADIES NOTES:
Seniors played in the County Semi-final last Saturday in Tuam Stadium against Dunmore. It was a very wet and slippery evening for football and Corofin opened the scoring with a point from play by Tracey Leonard. Dunmore replied with another point from play, Roisin Leonard then converted a free, then Corofin found the back of the net after a great passage of play with Lisa Leonard getting herself on the scoresheet with a magnificent goal. The crowd was entertained with some great skill and determination from both sides, and when the halftime whistle blew Corofin were leading 1-5 to 0-4. The second half was no different, with great intensity and determination from all corners of the field. Corofin were very happy when referee David Breslin blew for full-time and celebrated with a win of 1-12 to Dunmore 0-12. They have now earned their place in the County Final scheduled to be play on Sept 14th against Kilkerrin-Clonberne. Best of luck to the girls and to the management team of Ciaran McGrath, Sean Costello, Pat Creaven, Mary Ryan and Pat Gleeson.

U16s are scheduled to play Moycullen in the Division 1 League semi-final this Weds 28th August, good luck girls. U14s are training as usual. U12s started their Championship campaign last Sunday 25th August with an away game against Moycullen, the girls played fantastic but found themselves 6 points down at half-time, the downturn continued in the 2nd half and mid way through the second half Corofin found themselves 10 points down, but this group of girls never gave up and with great determination came out with a win by the narrowest of margins, a point. Well done girls and best of luck in the rest of the Championship. Training continues for U8s and U10s as per usual.
