LOTTO:
The numbers drawn in the lotto were 3, 13, 21, 22. There was no winner of the lotto and one match 3 – Kathleen Murphy. Next week’s jackpot is €3,800, with the draw taking place in Rafterys.
MENS NOTES:
Uachtaráin, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Mr Liam O'Neill, laid wreaths at the graves of Tom Molloy and Joe Mannion in Cummer graveyard last Sunday. The wreath laying ceremony took place following the annual cemetery mass. The mass was co-celebrated by Fr Patrick Mullins, Canon Martin Gleeson and Fr Seamus Nohilly.
After the mass, club chairman, Michael Ryder, welcomed the guests and speakers.
Tony Mannion spoke on the life and times of Tom Molloy and Joe Mannion. Noel Treacy, Cathaoirleach Coiste Contae na Gaillimhe, spoke on behalf of the county board.
Liam O'Neill then laid wreaths at both graves and addressed the large crowd who attended the ceremony.
Galway footballers have got another home draw in round 3 of the football qualifiers in which they play Armagh. The game has been fixed for Pearse Stadium, next Saturday at 5.00 pm. Best of luck to all our club players involved.
Corofin lost to Caherlistrane in Round 2 of the Leo Kenny Memorial Cup on Tuesday 9 July on a scoreline of Corofin 3-4 to Caherlistrane 2-10.
Corofin defeated Cortoon Shamrocks by 1-9 to 1-7 in the Junior Championship, played in Corofin last Friday. Well done to team and mentors.
Corofin lost to the All-Ireland Féile champions, Claregalway, in the quarter final of the Under 14 Championship played in Corofin on Monday evening, by 2-14 to 2-8.
LADIES NOTES:
Corofin Ladies held their annual Family Fun day last Sunday 14th July in Belclare pitch. It was a great day for all involved. Congratulations to the following on their win in the raffle: Louise Reilly €200, Leah Hughes €100 and Lena Lowry €50. Congratulations also to Margaret Brannelly on winning the garden bench which was kindly sponsored by Stephen Hession. Well done to Captain Katie O'Brien and her team on winning the Ann Glesson Memorial Cup. The winning team consisted of: Olivia O'Donovan, Chelsey Blade, Nicola Costello, Tara Creaven, Niamh Ryan, Amy Coen, Mary Newell and Ciara Coppinger. Thank you to you all who supported the day and especially to you all who helped out on the day. Thank you also to you for supporting the Church gate collection held at the weekend.
Congratulations to Tracey and Roisin Leonard, Cliodhna Moloney, Aoife Newell and Leonie Higgins on been part of the Galway Senior panel who won the Connacht Final last Sunday. Congratulations also to Aoife Creaven, Jessica Flaherty and Chelsey Blade on been part of the Galway U16 panel on winning their Connacht Final last Saturday. Best of luck girls in ye're All-Ireland semi-finals.
Training continues at all levels for the week.
