Congratulations to the senior team who recorded an emphatic win over Mícheál Breathnach on Saturday evening on a scoreline of 3-17 to 1-7. The senior team and scorers for Saturday’s game were as follows: Keith Murphy, Padraig Kelly, Kieran Fitzgerald, Aineis Lawless, Barry O'Donovan (0-1), Alan Burke, Padraig Hanley (0-1), Kieran Comer, Ronan Steede, Gart Sice (1-0), Alan O'Donovan (1-6), Mike Farragher (0-1), Ian Burke (1-4), Joe Canney (0-2), Gary Delaney (0-1). Subs: Greg Higgins for R Steede (half time); Tomás Costello (0-1) for P Hanly; Damian Burke for G Delaney; Gary Delaney for P Kelly (inj). Our intermediates lost narrowly to Glenamaddy/Glinsk on Sunday by 0-10 to 0-9. They now play in losers group of the Intermediate Championship. They have been drawn to play Claregalway on the weekend of 15/16th of June. Well done to both teams and their mentors and best of luck to them in the next round. The intermediate team return to action on Saturday evening when the play Headford in round 5 of the league at 6.00 pm in Corofin. The Club has launched its second annual prediction sports quiz. The Raftery Cup Finals take place on this Wednesday 29 May in Corofin GAA Pitch, starting at 5.30.
LADIES NOTES:
Training continues at all grades. Best of luck to all exam students who are preparing for their exams at this time. Thank you to you all who supported the fundraising dance last Saturday night in Rafterys pub, Corofin. It was great to see such a great turn out for the night. Raffle prizes on the night were won as follows: 1st prize from The Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran was won by Roger Fahy, and 2nd prize from The McWilliam Hotel, Claremorris was won by Margaret Brannelly. There were many other raffle prizes on the night sponsored by many businesses around the area and all of these businesses will be thanked along with those businesses who gave donations. This list is quiet vast and they will all be thanked nearer to the Féile weekend. Thank you to the Double Deckers for the super entertainment on the night and to Frank Collins for providing the food on the night. Thank you also to Michael Ryder who helped with the auctioning of the Bruce Springsteen tickets, the Galway jersey (signed by Galway hurlers), the Hurley signed by Joe and Ollie Canning, the beautiful painting donated by a local artist.
