CLUB LOTTO: The numbers drawn this week were 8, 14, 23, 26 with no jackpot winner and no match 3s. Next week's jackpot is €2,450 with the draw in Canavan’s, Belclare.
MENS NOTES: Senior footballers defeated Salthill / Knockncarra by 10 pts to 8 pts in the John Dunne Cup this Sunday. Best wishes to our club players on the Galway panel for the Connacht Football Senior Championship Quarter Final against Mayo to be played in Pearse Stadium at 4.00 pm next Sunday. Minors play Headford at 7.30 pm in Headford this Wednesday. Well done to all involved in this year’s “shave or dye” event. A special thanks to all the lads and our two girls Deirdre Moylan and Gail Molloy. All donations are greatly appreciated and this year’s grand total for the Irish Cancer Society was €8,505.54. A big thank you to everyone – a great success!!
UNDERAGE NOTES: The Raftery Cup Finals will be played on Wednesday 22 May in Corofin GAA Pitch, starting at 5.30. Further details will be on the website and in next week’s notes. Hard luck to the under 14s who lost the league final by 2 points on Sunday against Moycullen. Under 8s and 6s continue training on Saturday at 10.00 in Belclare. New members welcome.
LADIES NOTES: Training continues for all levels, U10s train on Thursdays 6-7pm, U8s train on Tuesdays 6.30-7.30pm. U12s played Kilkerrin/Clonberne last Thursday 9th, a great performance by the girls but unfortunately a win eluded them, losing out to a very strong Kilkerrin/Clonberne. The next round of U12 League is away to Salthill/Knocknacarra – best of luck girls. Please remember that registration is now due, all players, managers, mentors, committee members and county delegates must be registered. Please contact your trainer or the Clubs Registrar David Gower at (086)2350004. Thank you to you all who supported the Tea Dance last Saturday night in the Árd RÍ Hotel. All monies and unsold tickets must be returned to trainers or any committee member. The Club would really like to thank Della Dolan, our sponsors of the spot prizes Jimmy Bane Wines, Top Part Auto Factors, Medwell Pharmacy and Gleesons Pharmacy. The U14 girls will be traveling to the National Finals of Féile at the end of June. They are presently fundraising for this trip. There will be a night held in Raftery’s Pub, Corofin on May 25th, music will be by the Double Deckers. The girls are travelling around the parish selling these tickets at €5 each. Thank you for your support - it promises to be a great night. There will also be a raffle on the night and prizes include a night in The Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran. Hard luck to our girls on the Galway Senior Ladies panel on their defeat in the Division 2 League final last Saturday. Well done to Orla Canney, Amy Coen, Leanne Coen, Chloe Langan, Amy O'Donovan and Louise Reilly, who were part of the Galway U14 panel that beat Mayo in the Connacht Final last Sunday. Best of luck girls in the All-Ireland semi-final which is to be held on June 8th.
