CLUB LOTTO: The Lotto Jackpot of €3,500 was won by Seán Reilly Currandrum last week. The numbers drawn this week were 8, 13, 15, 17 with no jackpot winner and three match 3s – Maria Collins, Nora Hussey, and Angela Coen . Next week's jackpot €2, 150 with the draw in Man of Aran. MENS NOTES: Best wishes to our club players Tom Healy, Daithí Burke, Ian Burke & Liam Silke in the All-Ireland U21 Final versus Cork. The game takes place in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick at 7.00 pm on Saturday, May 4. Please support Galway and especially our club players. The John Dunne Cup, senior game versus Kilkerrin-Clonberne, is fixed for Corofin at 7.00 pm this Thursday evening. Corofin play Naomh Anna, Leitermore on Sunday in Corofin in the senior league, while the intermediates play Oranmore-Maree in Oranmore at 2.00 pm on Sunday. Also on Sunday the juniors play Killererin in Killererin. Please check the website for confirmation of times for all games. In the minor league, our minors suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Ballinasloe last week but recovered to record a comprehensive win over Annaghdown on Sunday evening. Their next game is on this Wednesday evening at 7.30 pm against Mountbellew / Moylough in Corofin. Please note that a memo from Runaí, Coiste Chontae na Gaillimhe re Sanctions, Authorisations and Transfers in relation to New York, the NACB area and Canada has been posted on the website under “Policies”.
UNDERAGE NOTES: The U16s played Dunmore MacHales, Dunmore on Tuesday night. The U14s play Monivea-Abbey in Corofin on Friday evening at 7.00 pm. The Under 12s defeated Tuam last Sunday in the Easy Fit league – well done all. The second round of the Raftery Cup takes place this Thursday 2 May.
LADIES NOTES: Registration evening will be held this Friday night 3rd May in Belclare 6.30-9pm. Registration rates are as follows: Adult Player - €55; U18, U16, U14 and U12 - €40; U10 and U8 - €30; Non-playing club members (managers, mentor, Club officers); if any manager or mentor wants to be covered by the injury fund, then they need to pay the full €55. U8 training commenced last Tuesday evening in Belclare, 6.30-7.30pm, please remember to bring your gum shields and parents need to stay at the pitch for this session. U10s train Thursdays 6-7pm, U12s and U14s train as per usual. U12s are due to play Dunmore this Thursday evening 2nd May in Belclare at 7pm. U14s played Claregalway last Monday evening away in the first round of their League, well done on a great display of football and character, been defeated by only 2 points, 6-4 to 5-9. U16s won against Salthill/Knocknacarra last Sunday, well done girls. Junior and senior training as per usual. Thank you to Club Secretary Mary Ryan and Senior player Meadhbh Maloney who visited Belclare, Cummer and Ballinderry primary schools last Friday to promote the club. Congrats to our Senior ladies involved with the Senior County Team on their win against Kildare in the League semi-final, well done also to our U14s on the county team on their win against Sligo last Saturday evening. Please support the Tea Dance in Ard RÍ hotel in aid of the Ladies Club on Saturday 11th May, please return monies or unsold tickets to any committee member or at training. Fundraising plans are also underway for the U14 County Féile winners, please support.
