CLUB LOTTO: The Lotto Jackpot of €3,500 was won by Seán Reilly Currandrum. Numbers drawn were 7, 9, 13, 17. There were five match 3s – Tom Hynes, Tom Duffy, Sheila Heneghan, Ger Comer & Tony Wynne. Next week's jackpot is €2,000 with the draw in the Black Rose, Tuam.

MENS NOTES: Well done the Galway U21 team who had a great win, against the odds, defeating Kildare by 2-10 to 2-5 on Saturday in the All-Ireland Semi Final. Congrats to our club players Tom Healy, Daithí Burke, Ian Burke & Liam Silke. The All-Ireland Final, in which Galway play Cork, takes place in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick at 7.00 pm on Saturday, May 4. In the intermediate league game played on Friday, Corofin had a comprehensive win over on An Cheathrú Rua. The early season success continued on Sunday when the seniors defeated Kilconly in the league on a score line of 1-13 to 2-4. Get well wishes are sent to Kevin O’Brien who is recovering from surgery. As league games have been postponed this weekend, the first round of the John Dunne Cup takes place this Thursday at 7.00 pm in Corofin in which we play Kilkerrin-Clonberne. Congratulations to the Corofin Under 14 girls who are going to Féile! The girls defeated Kilkerrin-Clonberne 5-4 to 0-4 in the final, having already won their group, knocking out reigning champions Claregalway in the process. Player registration has now been completed. All non- playing members must now be registered by April 30th. Please contact any Committee member with fee of €30 to register. Remember only registered club members are eligible to enter any draw for All-Ireland tickets. Many thanks to all who supported another successful table quiz, which was held in Raftery’s last Saturday, and was organised by Corofin Development Association. The club offers its sympathies to the Rabbitte family, Corbally and the Reilly family, Rusheens, on the death of Annie Rabbitte, RIP. UNDERAGE NOTES: We extend a “get well soon” wishes to Alan Broderick, who was injured at a recent Under 16 game. The club would like to thank David McHugh from Tuam Stars for all his help on the evening. Under 14s beat Bearna in the league on Friday evening. They play Kilkerrin-Clonberne on Friday evening in Clonberne at 7.00 pm in the league. Under 12s play St Bridget's in the Easy Fix league this evening in Kiltoom. Under 10s continue training on Friday evenings in Corofin and on Monday evenings in Belclare. Under 8s continue training on Saturday at 10.00 am in Belclare. Under 6 continue training on Saturday at 10.00 am in Belclare. Thanks to Patricia Langan, Angela Connelly and Ann Burke for looking after all the supports team mentors and players at the Féile. Thanks also to the parents for bringing refreshments on the day. The first two rounds of the Raftery Cup will take place next week on Tuesday 30 April and Thursday 2 May.

LADIES NOTES: U14 Girls Féile competition took place last Sunday 21st April in Belclare. Corofin had their first game against reigning champions Claregalway, it was a superb game of football from the very start, our girls showing great determination throughout and thankfully came out with a very deserved win, 4-4 to 4-2. The next game in their group was against Glenamaddy, and again the girls showing great skill throughout had a comprehensive win, 4-8 to 2-2. As Corofin won both their games, this meant they secured a place in the final against Kilkerrin-Clonberne. The final was played in Belclare later that evening, both teams quiet tired after the great day of football. Corofin opened the scoring with a point and a goal in the opening minutes, and continued to hold the lead, at halftime the score was 1-4 to 0-2. With great determination from all players, Corofin girls won on a scoreline of 5-4 to 0-4 and are now County Féile Champions and will represent County Galway in the National Féile Finals to be held in June 28-30th. Corofin girls will be hosted by Aodh Ruadh Club, Ballyshannon, County Donegal. Well done girls on becoming County Feile Champions, something that hasn't been achieved in Corofin since 2006. Team as follows: Karen Connolly, Amy Coen, Sharon Coen (Captain), Donna Higgins, Keisha Geraghty, Orla Canney, Katie Quigley, Shauna Laheen, Emily Donnelly, Louise Reilly, Leanne Coen, Mary Newell, Rachel Burke, Amy O'Donovan, Chloe Langan, Aoife Glynn, Niamh Canney, Aoife Coen, Ciara Coppinger, Aine Hynes, Emma McElroy, Laura McTigue, Katie O'Brien and Orlagh Ryan. Management team: Brian O'Donovan, Marie Reilly, Emer Leonard, Neill Donnelly and Gary Sice. A special word of thanks to you all that came out to support the girls throughout the day, it was great to see such a crowd cheering them on. Thank you to Kilkerrin-Clonberne on a great game of football in the final. Thank you to the County Committee and to Con Moynihan, who presented the shield to Captain Sharon Coen. The team then did a tour of the parish, thank you to you all who lit bonfires and waved flags on their route, then the evening was topped off with a quiet celebration in Supermacs. Thank you to Frank Morris for all his help throughout the day, getting the pitch and clubhouse ready, thank you to the referees on the day Gerry Moran and Ivan Hernon. Thank you to photographer John McManus for taking some lovely photos of the final, they can be viewed on his website. Thank you to the parents for supplying the food on the day, but most importantly, thank you to the U14 squad and management team for a great day and best of luck in the National Finals. U10s will train this week on Thursday in Belclare pitch as usual, training continues as usual for all grades. Congratulations also to Chelsey Blade, Aoife Creaven and Jessica Flaherty for making the 16 County Squad, best of luck girls. Registration will be held in Belclare on May 4th.
