Congratulations to Mattie Keane, Sylane, who won the lotto jackpot of 5,600. The lucky numbers were: 5, 7, 17, 28. There were four match 3s - Michelle Keane, Patsy Comer, Keith Forde and Ϊna Molloy. Next week's jackpot is 2,000 with the draw in the Raftery's Corofin.
Our under 21 team had a good win at the weekend defeating Monivea/Abbey in the first round of the championship. The game, which was played on Saturday in Monivea, finished on a score-line of Corofin 3-9 to Monivea/Abbey 1-7. Well done to team and mentors. This was a good start to the defence of our North Board title.
As the date for the Club Social draws near - 16 February at 8.30 pm in the Claregalway Hotel - tickets can be purchased from committee members and cost 25. There will be medal presentations to the minor team who had three wins - North Board, County & League titles, the u21 team - North Board winners and the senior ladies - county champions. The minor team, county champions from 1962, will also be honoured.
Under 13 training commences in Belclare on Wednesday evening from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm on the AstroTurf pitch. The under 13s will be playing Oranmore/Maree in the North Board League in Oranmore on Sunday 10 February at 11.00 am. Under 14 playing a challenge match against Ballyhaunis in Ballyhaunis on Saturday. Time is to be arranged later in the week - details will be on club website.
The club extends its sympathies to the Stephens family, Brockagh on the death of Frank Curran, formally Deerpark, Headford, who died recently in England and to Mary Cogger, Caherea, Corofin on the death of her mother Teresa Gilligan, Craughwell.
