There was heart-break for the Corofin 7-a-side team who lost the final of the Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland seven-a-side tournament at the weekend. St. Galls (Antrim) came out on top in an absolute thriller with the teams level at full time – Corofin 1-10 to St. Galls 0-13, with the Corofin goal coming from Gary Sice. St. Galls equalised with the last kick of the game. Corofin were defeated in a dramatic penalty shootout. In the group stages Corofin won their group consisting of teams from Leixlip, Kildare; Dunloe, Donegal and Ballylanders, Limerick. In the quarter final Corofin defeated Claremorris (Mayo) 4-6 to 2-5. In the semi-final they had a good win over Clonduff (Down) 4-8 to 1-9. Well done to all the players on the panel who represented the club so well at the 7's: Dave Morris, Kieran Fitzgerald, Kieran McGrath, Gary Sice, Tom Monaghan, Shane Monaghan, Michael Comer, Colm O’ Donovan, Barry O’ Donovan, Greg Higgins. Well done also to Brian Silke, Pat McHugh and Joe Canney on the line.
Well done to the minors who won the North Minor A League Semi-Final on Friday 21 September defeating Claregalway 2-15 to 2-12.
The senior team play Bearna at 6.00 pm on Saturday 29 September in Corofin.
The draw for All-Ireland tickets took place on Monday night. Congratulations to all the winners – we hope you enjoy the game and that Galway will bring ‘Liam’ back across the Shannon. The ticket winners are detailed on the website - corofingaa.com and also on facebook.

The Tuam & District Mental Health Association is holding a Safetalk Programme dealing with suicide prevention. The programme will take place in Tuam on the morning of Thursday 25 October. For further information contact Debra Collins at 093-24371.
