GAA CLUB NOTES

Last Wednesday the U-19’s played their North Board Championship Semi-Final against Tuam Stars in Corofin Pitch and it was a game that had everything. Poor conditions made it difficult for good football but both teams put on quiet the show for those who there to support them. The lads didn’t have the greatest first half but were still in the game, thanks to a well-taken goal from Rory Donnellan. The score at the break stood at Corofin 1-01 Tuam Stars 0-05. The second half was a different story as the Corofin team came to life and kicked some great scores. The game finished level at full-time; Corofin 1-08 Tuam Stars 1-08. Extra-time was required but even then there was nothing to separate the teams with full-time of extra-time finishing at Corofin 1-12 Tuam Stars 2-09. Penalties was next and the supporters could hardly watch as Corofin secured their place in the North Board Final against Claregalway, winning the penalty shootout 4-2.

The Senior team play the Senior Championship County Final on Sunday at 2:00pm against Moycullen in Pearse Stadium. Get your flags out in your gardens, on your cars and around the village as we show the team our support in the lead up to Sunday. Keep an eye on the Club social media profiles for details on tickets and streaming facilities.
