GAA CLUB NOTES

The U-19’s North Board Championship Semi-Final against Tuam Stars was postponed last week due to pitch conditions and is rescheduled for Wednesday evening at 7:30pm in Corofin Pitch.

Last Saturday, the Intermediates played their Relegation Round 3 fixture against Killererin in Milltown and secured their Intermediate status for next year with an impressive win. The lads led the game at the break by a single point thanks to a goal from Colin Kelly. The second half was an even more impressive team performance which saw Conor Newell get a fine goal and Coline Kelly get two more goals to complete his hat-trick! The game finished Corofin 4-12 Killererin 0-08.

On Sunday the Seniors played their Championship Semi-Final against Milltown in Tuam Stadium on Sunday afternoon. An explosive from the team resulted in a goal from Patrick Egan and a brace of goals from Jack McCabe, one of which was fortuitous from a free-kick out the field. The score stood at Corofin 3-05 Milltown 0-07 The second half was a more closely contested affair with Milltown rallying in the last 10 minutes, securing two goals, but it was ultimately too little, too late. The game finished Corofin 3-13 Milltown 2-12.

The Seniors are now through to the County Final where they will play Moycullen at the weekend after next, 5th November. Details of the fixture are yet to be confirmed at the time of completing the notes.
