LGFA CLUB NOTES

On Thursday the Junior team played their League Semi-Final against Salthill-Knocknacarra in Corofin. It was a great game with plenty of goals for the supporters to revel in. The girls ended up with a 2-goal cushion to book their place in the League Final, Corofin 5-09 Salthill-Knocknacarra 3-09, goals from Lorraine Ryder, Heather O'Leary, Aisling Greaney, Sarah Hughes & Louise Reilly.

On Saturday the Senior Ladies travelled to Kilkerrin to play Kilkerrin-Clonberne in their League Semi-Final. It was a difficult game for the girls but they competed very well, playing some great football for the majority of the game. Unfortunately Kilkerrin-Clonberne proved too strong and finished the game with an 8-point winning margin.

Ella Zywczyk and the victorious Galway Minor team stopped off at Belclare on Sunday as part of their Victory Tour through the County! Thank you to everyone for making it a memorable stop for Ella and her teammates.

UNDERAGE

A very successful Cl Camp was held in Belclare last week. It was great to see so many kids taking part and enjoying the coaching in the camp. Thank you to all the coaches, you were brilliant with the kids and you made the week so enjoyable for them. Thank you to all who helped with the organising of the camp and traffic management for drop-offs and collections. We look forward to doing it all again next year!

On Sunday morning the U-17 Boys team hosted Tuam Stars in Corofin their 3rd Round of the U-17 A Championship. In difficult conditions the game was still full of some great football. Boosted by two goals, Tuam Stars took the lead and unfortunately our lads were unable to recover the deficit. Corofin 0-5 Tuam Stars 2-8.

Our U11 Boys were privileged to be invited to take part in the Darragh Frain memorial tournament hosted by St. James on Saturday. After a week of Cúl Camp, fatigue was expected but they improved as the day went on. Great day of football and fun, and players & coaches were a credit to the club.
