GAMES
Last Tuesday (13th) The Senior team played their rescheduled Round 4 fixture of the Championship against An Spidéal in Pearse Stadium. An early goal from Ian Burke took the edge off a slow start. After 20 minutes the scores started to flow and they found themselves leading at halftime by 6 points. The second half continued as the first had finished with Corofin dominating. Despite An Spidéal rallying hard at the end and scoring a goal in the final minutes, the Seniors ran out comfortable winners 1-13 to 1-08.
Next Sunday, 25th the Seniors play their final round of Group 1 against Tuam Stars at 4:45pm in Tuam Stadium.
Last Wednesday evening the U19’s A North Championship fixture was cancelled and the game awarded to Corofin. The points leave them top of their Group on 8 points with 4 wins from 4 games.
The Intermediates play their Championship Quarter Final against St Brendan’s in Duggan Park this Saturday, 24th at 2:00pm.
The U17s played the 3rd Round of their A North Championship away to a very strong Claregalway. Despite losing on a final score of 5-14 to 0-07, the boys battled right to the end against a very strong Claregalway side.
UNDERAGE NOTES
Last Thursday evening our U13 Division 4 team qualified for the Cup Final with a 0-22 to 3-09 victory over Kinvara. Well done to the boys and Management.
On Saturday morning the U6 group welcomed Oranmore to Belclare where nearly 120 children took part. A great morning of football with help from the U8 & U9 goalies. Thanks to Oranmore, all Coaches and parents for making it such a success. The U7 group played Claregalway on Saturday morning also and it was a mighty turnout with everyone playing very well.
