GAMES

The U-19’s won their A North Championship Round 2 fixture against Claregalway last Wednesday with a scoreline of 3-08 to 2-08. The game was a real ding-dong battle with goals from Jack McCabe (x2) and Patrick Egan proving the difference on the evening. Their Round 3 fixture is Wednesday 17th August against Dunmore MacHales in Dunmore.

The Seniors got their 2022 Championship campaign off to a winning start with a steady victory over Oughterard in Pearse Stadium on Saturday. After a good start from Oughterard they lead by 4 points to 1, however our lads never panicked and went in at half time leading by 8 points to 4 points. The second half continued where the 1st half left off from and the final score was 0-15 to 0-08. Their next round fixture is next Saturday in Pearse Stadium at 6:15pm against Naomh Anna, Leitir Móir.

The Junior C team travelled to Kiltormer on Sunday for their Championship North Quarter Final against Kiltormer. It was a case of our 5th adult team against Kiltormer’s 1st team. A quick start from Kiltormer saw them run up a 5 point lead which made it an uphill battle for our lads straight away. However, our lads continued to give everything to the cause and came out after half-time with renewed belief. The 2nd half was much more competitive but the 1st half could not be overturned with a final score of Kiltormer 3-12 Corofin 1-07.

Next Friday, 12th August, the Intermediates kick-start their 2022 Championship against Moycullen in Kenny Park at 7:30pm. On Sunday the Juniors also start their Championship campaign as they host Menlough at Corofin pitch at 12:00pm in Group B.

Safe travelling to all supporters attending this week’s fixtures, your support is hugely appreciated.

UNDERAGE NOTES

Our U10 & U11’s played Claregalway on Sunday morning in sunny Belclare! Four evenly split teams played some great football with plenty of great skills being demonstrated despite the heat. Well done to all the lads and coaches and all the parents who came along.
