Your continued support for our Lotto in greatly needed and appreciated, as it enables us to meet this demand year-round.

Next Monday, 25th July we have a mammoth Lucky Dip prize of a 2 Night stay for 2 People at the Clifden Station House Hotel!

CLUB

A big thank you to the members who came to Corofin pitch on Saturday morning to do a general clean-up and painted the front wall of the pitch. The added flags and bunting on Sunday makes the entrance to the pitch look great and adds to the atmosphere in the village in the lead up to the All-Ireland Final on Sunday. We encourage every house, business and community in the parish to turn their area Maroon and White this week to show your support for the Players and Management.

GAMES

On Friday Junior A team travelled to Ballymacward to play a Padraig Pearses side that had defeated us 1-15 to 1-05 only a month ago. A much improved performance from the Junior A’s this time around resulted in a much deserved 1 point win with a scoreline of Corofin 3-09, Padraig Pearses 0-14.

On Saturday the Junior C team were to host St. Brendan’s on Saturday evening in Corofin but St Brendan’s conceded the game to us and now the lads await a Shield Semi-Final!

COUNTY

A belated but a hugely sincere congratulations to the Galway Minors for their All-Ireland Final triumph over our neighbours Mayo last Friday week. The Club was delighted with the performances and conduct of the Corofin players involved in the panel throughout the year (Vinny Gill, Ross Coen and Gavin Kelly) and each are deserving of their praise and celebrations. The character by the players shown to overcome defeats earlier in the year must be admired. The future for Galway Football is certainly bright with this panel.

The Club wishes Padraic Joyce, Management Team, Players and Corofin representatives Liam Silke, Dylan McHugh, Kieran Molloy, Dylan Canney and Tony Gill the very best in their preparations for the upcoming Senior All-Ireland Football Final on Sunday in Croke Park. The lads have performed with distinction when called upon through the League and Championship. We hope they can bring Sam Maguire back west after Sunday, there will be a heroes welcome regardless.

UNDERAGE NOTES

The U12 squad had an enjoyable day in the Prairie on Saturday at the Pete Burke Memorial Tournament. Our two teams qualified for the final in both groups to the host Club, Salthill-Knocknacarra. The boys were defeated in both finals but the quality of football on display was truly magnificent. Well done to all our players and a big thank you to Salthill-Knocknacarra for organising the day.

The U10’s and U11’s had an excellent blitz with St James with some brilliant football played by both teams. Well done to all and thank you to St James for making it such an enjoyable day.
