GAMES

Galway minor footballers played Mayo on Monday evening in MacHale Park, Castlebar in the Connacht final.  This resulted in a win for Mayo on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-8.

 

Our seniors defeated St Michael's in the league division 1 by 0-9 to 0-7 played in Corofin last week.       

In the league division 3, our intermediate team defeated Monivea-Abbey by 4-9 to 1-15, played in Corofin on Friday evening.

We play Glinsk in the junior A championship North in Glinsk at 8.00 pm on Friday evening. 

Our juniors play Ballinasloe in the league division 4B at 12.00 pm in Corofin on Sunday.

 

The junior, intermediate and senior championship draws took place on Monday afternoon.  In the junior championship Corofin are in Group 2 with Menlough, Athenry and Ballinasloe. 

In the intermediate championship Corofin are in Group 1 with Cortoon Shamrocks, Glenamaddy and Moycullen.

In the senior championship Corofin are in Group 1 with Oughterard, Moycullen, An Spidéal, Tuam Stars and Naomh Anna, Leitir Mór.

 

Galway hurlers lost to Kilkenny by 0-17 to 0-22 in the Leinster hurling final played in Croke Park on Saturday evening. 

 

UNDERAGE NOTES

The Corofin lads won the double in the Clifford Cup, under 13 competition, hosted by St. Mary’s  Sligo on Saturday, winning both the Cup and Shield. In the cup final we defeated Castlebar Mitchel’s by 2-3 to 1-5 in the final, with the Corofin goal scored with the last kick of the game.  Congratulations to the players on both panels and all who helped out on the day.

 

SYMPATHY

The club offers its sympathy to the Nohilly family on the death of Johnny Nohilly, Moneen.  May he rest in peace.
