CLUB NOTES

Last Thursday the Junior team overcame St James’ in Mervue in Division 4B with a final score of 6-20 to 3-11. A great win that hopefully puts the Juniors on a winning run.

 

On Friday the senior team play Annaghdown in Creggs pitch and came away with a great win on a scoreline of 2-18 to 0-10, making it 3 wins from 4 games in Division 1 so far this year. Goals from Colin Kelly and Matthew Cooley. Their next game is against Tuam Stars in Corofin the weekend of the 6th - 8th May. Details to be confirmed later.

 

Also on Friday, the Junior C team hosted St Gabriels in the Junior C Championship North. A competitive game, the lads narrowly lost out on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-15. The next fixture for the Junior C’s is away to Williamstown, due the weekend of 6th – 8th May. Details to be confirmed later.

 

On Saturday the Junior A team hosted Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Round 2 of the Junior A Championship North, coming away with a comprehensive victory on a scoreline of 3-8 to 0-4. Goals from Robbie Winston, Finn McIntyre and Seán Silke.

 

On Sunday morning the Intermediate team hosted Oughterard Round 4 of Division 3A. After a greatly contested game, the Intermediates pulled away and won with a 6 point margin, 2-14 to 2-8. Goals from Conor Brady and Colin Kelly. The next fixture for the Intermediates is Oranmore-Maree in Corofin, due the weekend of 6th – 8th May. Details to be confirmed later.

 

The U19’s host Dunmore McHale’s this evening (Wednesday) at 7:30pm for their third game in the U19 A North League. Hopefully they can keep their 100% record going.

The U-9’S played Naas from Kildare in the Dome at Bekan, Mayo last Saturday. A great day was had by all, thank you to all the Coaches and Parents for their help.

 

 

Congratulations to Daithí Burke and the Galway Hurling Management Team and Players as they beat Wexford on Saturday at Pearse Stadium in the second game of the Leinster Championship. Their next game is fixed for Sunday, 1st May at 2pm against Kilkenny at Pearse Stadium.

 

Well done to the Galway Footballers as they beat Mayo at McHale Park, Castlebar in Connacht Senior Championship on Sunday with throw in at 4.00 pm. There were many great performances, particularly from Club players Liam Silke, Kieran Molloy and Dylan McHugh. We send best wishes to the team and especially to our club players involved. Their next game in the Connacht Senior Championship is fixed for Sunday, 8th May at 12pm against Leitrim at Pearse Stadium.

 

 

Club Membership for 2022 is still open for registration. Reminder to all Players that Membership must be paid before resuming any training or matches. Our community was saddened to hear about the passing of Kate Moran, she will remain forever young in our memories. Our Club’s sincere sympathy to the Moran Family, Athenry Camogie Club and the communities of Athenry, Monivea and Abbeyknockmoy.

 

We also sympathise with the families and friends of the following who have died recently:

Mae Woods, Sligo; formerly Mae Burke, Annaghill
