CLUB NOTES

Next weekend will see the Senior team play Killannin away in Round 2 of Division 1. The Intermediates are due to play Headford at home in Round 2 of Division 3A. The weekend will also see the Junior team get their Division 4B campaign off to a start with their Roun1 fixture away to Renvyle. Dates and times of fixtures to be confirmed, please keep an eye on our social media feeds for confirmation of same.

 

Club Membership for 2022 is still open for registration. Reminder to all Players that membership must be paid before resuming any training or matches. Information on registration and links to our online partner Clubforce can be found on our club website, www.corofingaa.ie or please contact the Club Registrar.

 

Galway Footballers had an impressive win over Derry on Sunday in the Allianz League, 4-11 to 0-12, securing automatic promotion back to Division 1 next year. Kieran Molloy, Liam Silke and Dylan McHugh started for Galway with Tony Gill coming on in the 70th minute. The footballers next game is their final Allianz League game for this year against Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park next Sunday 27th March at 2pm. Tickets will be available from Raftery’s Centra, Corofin village.

 

Galway Hurlers has a victory also in their Allianz League game against Clare on Sunday also, 0-25 to 1-20. Daithí Burke captained the team from full-back. The hurler’s next game is their Leinster Championship opener against Wexford on 16th April.

 

We sympathise with the families and friends of the following who have died recently:

Dympna Blake, Enniskillen mother of Liam Blake, Ardrumkilla.

UNDERAGE NOTES

Thanks to everyone who attended the coaching seminar on Saturday March 12th. It was a very informative morning and plenty of good tips for all coaches. 

 

Our nursery starts up again this Saturday for boys and girls U6 and U7 boys. Times are 9.15am for U7 boys in Astro. 11am for mixed U6 and 11.15am for the mixed U5 group in the Astro.

 

U9 training is at 9.15am Saturday. U11s have their normal time of 10am on Sunday. U13s train on Friday at 6pm. The U15s training on Friday at 7pm and Sunday morning as usual. 

 

With the advent of summer time a full pitch and training schedule will be available this week. Leagues in all ages start in the next few weeks.
