GALWAY FOOTBALLERS:
The Galway senior footballers put in a strong performance against Dublin in round 3 of the league in Tuam Stadium on Sunday, despite losing out by 4 points on a final score of 2-16 to 1-15. Bernie Power, Liam Silke, Dylan McHugh and Kieran Molloy started for Galway with Dylan scoring an excellent point in the second half. However Galway must now face Monaghan in a relegation play-off for to preserve their top flight status. The game will take place on the weekend of 12 / 13 June.
SYMPATHY:
The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of the following who died recently: Frank Hession, Gortbeg. Frank served on the general Committee of the Club for many years and was a great supporter of Club activities both on and off the pitch.
It is with great sadness the club has learned of the sudden passing last Thursday of Josephine Hanly at her home in Virginia, Co. Cavan. To her beloved husband Gerard, former player and Senior team manager, her daughter Ailbhe, son Shane and the extended Hanly family the club extends its deepest sympathy.
We also remember Annie Corroon, (née Collins), Mullingar, sister of Eddie Collins, Caherhugh; Celia Glennane, Mullaghmore, Sligo, wife of Willie Glennane, formerly Currandrum. May they rest in peace.
