EVERY STEP COUNTS:
Well done to all our club members and friends who are participating in the “Every Step Counts” challenge. The challenge is running for seven weeks and concludes on Wednesday March 3. We now have over 100 people participating and the club is well inside the top twenty on the leader board with a total of over 18,000 km walked since the challenge commenced on January 13. Remember it is never too late to start and we would encourage all our participants to continue walking even when this particular challenge finishes.
CONGRATS DAITHÍ:
Congratulations to Daithí Burke who was awarded his 5th hurling All Star at a virtual ceremony broadcast on RTÉ 1 television on Saturday evening.
MENTAL HEALTH:
St. Jarlath’s Credit Union based in County Galway and St. Anthony’s and Claddagh Credit Union, based in Galway City have teamed up with national counselling service “Let’s Get Talking” to set up a series of online events and content for this week. The focus is on minding our mental health in lockdown 3.0. Details of the events are published on the club’s social media pages.
MEMBERSHIP:
Club membership is now open to all adults, players and non-players and juveniles. We have simplified the membership application process this year. Select Club Membership on the club website or open the ClubForce App on your smartphone.
NATIONAL DRAW:
As you may be aware, tickets for the 2021 Croke Park National Club Draw are now on sale. Tickets, costing €10, can be purchased from any club officer or committee member. Tickets can also be bought on the club website. Please note that all monies raised from selling the tickets remain in the club and the club has no financial outlay re the prizes which are all supplied by Croke Park. The 2021 Draw has even more prizes on offer, varying from a Renault Car to All Ireland Final Tickets, and a variety of cash prizes.
CONGRATS VERONICA:
Congratulations to our own Veronica Murphy who has been selected to participate in the new Ladies Gaelic Football Association “Learn to Lead” female leadership programme. Veronica is one of only 24 participants selected to be involved in the programme.
