The numbers drawn in the lotto draw held on 27 January, for a jackpot of €3,500, were 5, 13, 21, 28. There were two match 3s, Brendan Morris, Michael Canney. Seller's prize Patricia Langan. Next week's jackpot is €3,650 and draw in Club Office.
The numbers drawn in the lotto draw held on 21 January, for a jackpot of €3,350, were 4, 6, 8, 13. There were five match 3s, Martin Collins, Mike Hanley, Elaine Cullen, Gay Mannion, Kevin Collins. Seller's prize: Gerry Collins.
SPORTS AWARDS:
The Medtronic Galway Sports Awards were held in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday night.
Congratulations to Corofin who were awarded Club of the Year and to Liam Silke, Footballer of the Year. Congrats also to Rossa Ryan, former under age player with Corofin who won the Horse Racing award.
We also send our congratulations to Jim Carney of the Tuam Herald, who won a well deserved award for his outstanding contribution to sports coverage.
CONGRATS OUGHTERARD:
Congratulations to Oughterard who captured the AIB Intermediate All Ireland Title with a 2-16 to 0-12 win over Magheracloone, played in Croke Park on Saturday. Special well done to Aidan Fahy and John John Fleming, from all in Corofin GAA Club, who are both involved with Oughterard. This victory proved to be a great six days for Galway football clubs following on from Corofin’s senior success.
GALWAY SENIORS:
Galway footballers had a good start to their division 1 league campaign with a 1-14 to 0-16 win over Monaghan in Pearse Stadium on Sunday. The goal came from Rob Finnerty in the first half.
Galway play Kerry at 7.00 pm on Saturday in Austin Stack Park Tralee.
GALWAY LADIES:
Galway ladies were defeated by Waterford on a score line of 1-15 to 5-4 in the league division 1 played in Corofin on Sunday afternoon.
