ALL IRELAND THREE-IN-A-ROW CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to our senior team who made history on Sunday becoming the first club to capture 3 All Ireland titles in a row. This was achieved after the teams were level, with Kilcoo of Down, on 7 points each at full time. However they dominated extra time scoring 1-5 and holding Kilcoo scoreless. The goal arrived, thanks to Conor Cunningham, just before the break. The final score was 1-12 to 0-7 bringing the fifth All Ireland title to the club. The man of the match award went to Ronan Steede who scored three points from play. However, all 23 players who featured contributed handsomely to this historic victory.
Well done to all involved in this great achievement, players, management and club officials. We thank our amazing supporters who travelled to Croke Park in huge numbers and braved the cold to witness this victory. We wish to acknowledge all the well-wishers who lined the route of the homecoming cavalcade and accorded such a wonderful reception to the team. Thanks to everyone, including neighbouring parishes, who lit bonfires on the route home and on the tour of the parish and all those clubs and organisations who have sent us good wishes.
