GALWAY WINS:

Well done to the Galway Juniors who reached the All-Ireland final for the second year in a row, following their one point, 7-17 to 5-22 extra time victory over Meath in Dr. Hyde Park, Roscommon on Saturday.   Connor Brady and Alan Molloy started at midfield for Galway in the game.  The final against Kerry has been fixed for Portlaoise on Saturday with throw in at 5.00 pm.

 

Galway are the Connacht under-20 Champions for 2019 after their 0-16 to 0-10 win over Mayo in Tuam Stadium last Wednesday evening.  Oran Burke, Ross Mahon, Gavin Burke, Darragh Silke and Conor Newell all featured for Galway.  Well done to the team.    

 

CLUB GAMES:

Congratulations to our Junior C team who have qualified for the division 8 league (North) final.  They defeated Mountbellew-Moylough by 2-15 to 1-15 in Mountbellew on Friday evening.  They will play Claregalway in the final.  This game has been fixed for Tuam Stadium on Sunday at 6.30.  Best of luck to all those involved.  

 

Our Junior A team play Athenry in division 5 league (North)in Corofin at 8.00 pm on Friday evening.  

 

Our senior’s game scheduled for last weekend against Mountbellew-Moylough in the league, division 1 was postponed.We play An Spidéal on Sunday at 12.00 pm in An Spidéal.  

 

Our under 15 team were defeated by Monivea-Abbey on Friday evening in the division 1 (North) league.  Their next game is against Athenry in Athenry on Friday evening at 7.00 pm.  

 

We defeated Dunmore MacHales in the minor A (North) Championship by 1-15 to 0-5, played in Corofin on Thursday evening.

 

BEST WISHES:

The club wishes Fr. Patrick Mullins well in his retirement having served for 8 years as Parish Priest in Corofin / Belclare and for 47 years as a priest.  We welcome his successor Fr. Ciarán Blake who takes up duty at the weekend.  

 

SYMPATHY:

The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Padraic Morris, Perth, brother of John Joe Morris, Corballyand Elizabeth Coyne, Claregalway, sister of GráinneWhiteside, Doonbeg.   May they rest in peace.
