GALWAY U20
Well done to the Galway U-20 footballers, who got their John Kerins Cup campaign off to a winning start on Saturday afternoon with a 1-18 to 0-10 win over Kildare. The game was played in Longford and the team was managed by Pádraic Joyce. The Corofin players who started were Oran Burke, Ross Mahon, Gavin Burke and Darragh Silke who scored 7 points.
CONNACHT FINAL:
The 2019 Connacht Senior Football Championship final, in which Galway Play Roscommon, will take place in Pearse Stadium at 4.00 pm on Sunday 16 June.
UNDERAGE:
Our under 13s defeated Tuam Stars by 4-3 to 3-5 in a Group 1 game played on Friday evening.
We had two under 12 teams playing in the Clifford Cup Tournament in Sligo on Saturday. Our first team played very well, winning all their group games and lost by a point in the semi-final. The second team didn't have the best of days and didn't make it out of their group. Many thanks to all who travelled with the players and gave of their time generously.
SYMPATHY:
The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Margaret Lally Birr, sister of Josie Hughes, Dowras; Phil McCartan, Ardskeabeg, mother of Eugene McCartan and Padraic Fahy, Manchester, brother-in-law of Mary Fahy Mylespark. May they rest in peace.
