CLUB AWARDS:

We have been rewarded, as All-Ireland champions, with another fantastic accolade for the club.  We have seven players on the second AIB GAA Club Players’ Football Team of the Championship, namely Bernard Power, Liam Silke, Kieran Molloy, Daithí Burke, Gary Sice, Jason Leonard and Martin Farragher.  This was Liam and Martin’s second award.

Well done also to Kieran and Gary who were nominated for player of the year along with Gaoth Dobhair’s Kevin Cassidy.   The award went to Kieran Molloy.  We congratulate Kieran and his family on this tremendous achievement.

The awards were present by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan and Denis O'Callaghan, Head of AIB Retail Banking at a banquet in Croke Park on Saturday night.

We thank all those who attended the event and lent their support to the lads on what was a great occasion.  Congratulations to players and also to the management team and extended panel that got them there.

LEAGUE GAMES:

We defeated Milltown by 3-10 to 3-8 in the senior league division 1 played in Corofin on Friday evening.  The Corofin goals were scored by Colin Brady, Jason Leonard (penalty) and Michael Farragher.  We also thank Milltown for the guard of honour.

The seniors return to action again when they play Killannin at 2.00 pm in Corofin on Sunday afternoon.

Well done to our Junior, division 5, team who defeated Caherlistrane on Saturday evening in Caherlistrane by 3-13 to 3-12.  The 1 point win was helped by a last minute goal from Cathal Newell.  Cathal also scored another goal with the third goal coming from Oisín Corcoran.  This team plays Kilkerrin-Clonberne at 7.00 pm in Corofin on Friday evening.

Our Intermediate, division 3, team defeated An Fhairche - Clonbur by 2-14 to 2-9, with both Corofin goals being scored by Dylan Canney.  Their next game is against Menlough at 5.00 pm in Corofin      on Saturday evening.

Well done to all three adult teams on their wins at the weekend.

We lost out to Northern Gaels by 1-16 to 0-11 in the Minor A Football League – North, played in Glenamaddy on Wednesday evening.  We play Caherlistrane at 7.00 pm in Corofin on this Wednesday evening.

UNDERAGE:

There was great excitement at underage training in Belclare on Saturday morning, when the lads had a surprise visit from senior players Martin Farragaher, Cathal Silke and Micheál Lundy who brought along the Andy Merrigan trophy for company.  Many thanks to the three lads for attending.

STRICTLY:

A reminder that our Strictly Come Dancing is now less than two weeks away.  Full details can be had on our Facebook page.
