CLUB NOTES: The Galway senior team play Mayo in the Connacht Championship, quarter-final, in MacHale Park, Castlebar at 4.00 on Sunday. We send best wishes to the team, to our Club players involved and to selector Brian Silke. The first game in the senior championship is scheduled for the weekend of 19 / 20 May. We play Claregalway in our first game in Group 1. The other teams in this group are An Cheathrú Rua; Cortoon Shamrocks and St James’. Our second junior team play Mountbellew-Moylough in the league division 5 (North) on Friday evening at 8.00 pm in Mountbellew. We defeated Annaghdown in the under 15 division 1 (North) league by 2-10 to 1-5 played last Friday evening in Cregg. This team were scheduled to play Kilconly on Tuesday evening in Corofin. The 2018 Raftery Cup competition commences this Thursday evening in Belclare. Full details of all the fixtures are carried on the Club website. The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died recently: Maise Walsh, Kiltimagh (nee Finnerty, Woodquay) sister of the late Nora Martyn, Pa & Mick Finnerty, Woodquay; Sr Anne Maria Kelly, Curry and the Congregation of the Poor Sisters of the Mother of God, Dublin. May they rest in peace.
