CLUB NOTES:

We once again congratulate the six Club players who were recipients of the AIB GAA Club Team of the Year Awards at Croke Park on Saturday night, namely Liam Silke, Kieran Fitzgerald, Dylan Wall, Mike Farragher, Ian Burke and Martin Farragher.   We also congratulate Liam Silke who was named as the AIB GAA Club Footballer of the year.  The awards were present by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan and Denis O'Callaghan, Head of AIB Retail Banking.  We thank all those who attended the event and lent their support to the lads on what was a great occasion.

We play New York GAA County Senior team on Thursday evening at 7.45 pm (New York time) in Gaelic Park, New York. There will also be a meet and greet with the players at Jake’s Saloon (23rd Street) on Friday evening.  We are having a fundraising raffle with prizes on the night to include: Corofin All-Ireland Jerseys signed by the players, hurleys signed by Joe Canning, a Donegal jersey signed by Michael Murphy and a signed Galway hurling jersey.  We wish all those travelling a safe journey.

Our junior C team play Claregalway in the league division 8A (North) at 8.00 pm in Corofin on Friday evening.

Our second junior team play Milltown in the league division 5 (North) at 2.00 pm in Corofin on Sunday.

Our under 16s lost out to St. Gabriel’s played in Corofin last Tuesday.   We played Caherlistrane in Caherlistrane last night (Tuesday).

We play Ballinasloe in the under 14 league division 1 (North) in Ballinasloe at 7.00 pm on Friday evening.   Our second under 14 team play Barna in the league division 4 in Belclare also at 7.00 pm on Friday evening.

Although we did not qualify for any finals, our Féile players performed very well and both teams should be proud of the contribution they made to the tournament at the weekend.  Well done to all involved.

The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died recently: Teresa Mullen (née Noone), Kilbannon, mother of Anne Murphy, Gurrane; Liam Philbin, Clonbur, brother of Breda Waters, Kilnaloonty and formerly Belclare NS.  May they rest in peace.
