There is a first prize of €1000, with a chance to win other great prizes for all those who purchase a ticket.

We would also ask all our supporters to display flags and banners around the parish, as we get ready for another big day in Croke Park.

Progressive 25 Card drive in aid of Corofin GAA training fund, Sunday March 11 at 7.00 pm in Belclare Community Centre. Admission €10. For info contact Tommy O’Brien (087) 2424850.

The 2018 Galway Senior Football Championship Draw was held last week.  There is a new format for the championship this year.  We are in Group 1 with Claregalway, St. James', Cortoon Shamrocks and An Cheathrú Rua.  The top two teams in the group will qualify for the quarter finals. We will play our first game in the group against Claregalway on the weekend of 19th/20th May.

Our under 20s lost narrowly to Caherlistrane by 1-11 to 0-15 in the first round of the North Board Championship played in Caherlistrane on Saturday.  Ross Mahon scored the Corofin goal.  Hard luck lads.

The Galway senior footballers had an excellent win over Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee in the fourth round of the League on Sunday.   Galway play Monaghan in Pearse Stadium next Sunday, with throw in at 12.30 pm.  This game is followed by the clash of Galway and Limerick in the National Hurling League (division 1B) at 2.30 pm.

Well done to Medtronic senior footballers who defeated Liebherr from Killarney on Friday evening in Loughgeorge.  The Medtronic team featured a number of Corofin players.

The Club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Marie Murphy, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, mother of Bronagh Hession, Ballinastack.  May she rest in peace.

LADIES FOOTBALL

We are issuing an urgent appeal for volunteers, as we have many young players wanting to play u14 and u16 football but not enough adults to run these teams. Everybody can help, but the first step is to volunteer to help our Ladies Club. If you would like to know what is involved please contact any of the Club executive or send us a message on Facebook.
