CLUB NOTES: Congratulations to our senior team on their hard fought victory over Moorefield in the All-Ireland Club semi-final in Tullamore on Saturday. We finished up winners on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-6 with the all-important goal coming from Liam Silke in the dying minutes of the game. Thanks to all for the great support given to the team at the game and to all who sent us messages of encouragement. It is very much appreciated. The second semi-final, between Slaughtneil and Nemo Rangers, takes place in Portlaoise on Saturday at 4.30 pm. We will take on the winners of this game in the All-Ireland final in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day. We wish the team and mentors best of luck with their preparations over the next few weeks and we ask for your on-going support for the Club as we prepare for this great occasion. We play Caherlistrane in the Under 20 North Board Championship at 2.30 pm in Caherlistrane on Saturday. The Galway senior footballers play Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee in the fourth round of the League on Sunday. The Club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Miko Furey, USA, brother of the late Mattie Furey, Anbally, who died recently. May he rest in peace.
