CLUB NOTES:

Our game against Fulham Irish in the All-Ireland Senior Club Championship quarter final is confirmed for Sunday 21 January at 1.00 pm in McGovern Park, Ruislip.

The Club sends its very best wishes to Gary Sice who has announced his retirement from intercounty football.  Gary has made 92 appearances for Galway, between league & championship, since making his senior debut in 2006.  We look forward to Gary’s continuing involvement with the Club.

Our minors lost out to Claregalway in the Minor A Football League (North) final played in Headford on Saturday.  The full time score was Corofin 0-7 to Claregalway 0-9.  The Corofin scorers were Darragh Silke 3, Matthew Cooley 2, Gavin Burke 1 and Tony Gill 1.   Corofin, playing with the wind in the first half, led by 5 points to 2 at the break.  However they were unable to maintain the lead, as Claregalway mounted a spirited comeback to win out by 2 points.  Hard luck to the lads in what was a great game for the time of year.

The Club social has been postponed until further notice. This is due mainly to the fact the London fixture is on the following weekend (21 January).

The Croke Park Draw tickets are still available from committee and players.

Remember also that Club membership is now due. Details are on the Club web site.

The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died over the Christmas period:

Gerard O’Loughlin, Curry; Kitty Murphy, Garrymore, Roundfort, aunt of Anne Marie Burke, Corbally; David Quinlan, Manchester, cousin of Sally Connaughton, Curryeighter; Theresa Clancy, Rusheens; Teresa Quirke, Tuam, sister of Caroline Higgins, Claretuam; Margaret Innes (nee Conway), England and late of Belclare;  Teresa Cahill (nee O’Loughlin) niece of Teresa McDonagh and Tony O’Loughlin; Bina Kindergan (nee Fahy) Clough and Joe Greaney, Glenanena.

May they rest in peace.
