CLUB NOTES:

Well done to our seniors who had an exciting win over St Brigids in the AIB Connacht Club Senior Football Championship semi-final in Tuam Stadium on Sunday.   Corofin led by 2 points at half time, 1-5 to 0-6 with the goal coming from Ian Burke.  However St. Brigids clawed back Corofin’s lead to sent the game to extra time with the score at 1-12 each.  We dominated the extra time with Daithí Burke scoring the vital goal in the first minute of the second period of extra time to leave the final score at Corofin 2-15 to St. Brigids 1-14.  Tremendous credit is due to the team and management for the effort they put into winning this game.  We play Castlebar Mitchels in the Connacht final in Tuam Stadium on 26 November with throw in at 2.00 pm.

The Club will shortly launch the Annual GAA National Club Draw with 20 prizes ranging from a New Renault Dynamique, to Travel Vouchers, to All-Ireland tickets and much more.  Tickets costing €10 will be available shortly from committee members.  By supporting this draw you are helping the Club in it’s on-going fundraising activities.

Congratulations to our Club players on the Claregalway Hotel Senior Football Dream Team for 2017.  The six players named were Kieran Fitzgerald, Kieran Molloy, Conor Cunningham, Jason Leonard, Dylan Wall and Ian Burke.

Corofin GAA Club, in association with Justin Campbell, is hosting a night not to be missed and a must see event for parents, coaches and young adults 16 to 25. We will have renowned speaker Justin Campbell to give a short talk with an opportunity for Q&A afterwards for the whole community on "Building Resilience on and off the field".  The event takes place at St. Colman's National School, Cummer on Wednesday 22 November commencing at 7.00 pm. This is a free event.  Tea/Coffee will be served afterwards. We thank especially School Principal, Siobhán Lynskey, for providing the venue.

We send congratulations and a well done to all involved with Sylane Hurling Club‏ on winning the Connacht Junior Hurling Champions for 2017.
