CLUB NOTES:
Well done to Galway, who have qualified for their second successive Connacht SFC final. Galway fought off a determined second half comeback from Mayo to record a 0-15 to 1-11 win, played in a wet and windy Pearse Stadium on Sunday. Club players Liam Silke, Gary Sice and Micheál Lundy along with selector Brian Silke all played their part in this great win. Galway will face either Roscommon or Leitrim on July 9th.
The Senior Football Championship second round game versus Moycullen is fixed for Pearse Stadium at 7.15 pm on Saturday.
Well done to our second adult team who won their North Board Junior Championship game against Tuam Stars on Friday night by 5-15 to 0-6. The goals came from Joe Canney and Shane Monaghan (first half) and Colm O'Donovan (2), Oisín Mannion. Congratulations to all involved on a successful start to the championship.
Our third junior team lost out to Glenamaddy by 3-7 to 1-17 in the league division 8A (North) played in Corofin on Saturday evening.
The GAA has announced details of a new GAA Membership Card and rewards programme entitled GRMA or ‘go raibh maith agat’. This is a thank you to Club Members for their involvement in GAA clubs, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games.
Club members can sign up online via gaa.ie/grma and will receive a new official GAA Membership Card personalised with their name, club and GAA Membership Number.
The Club offers its sympathy to Catherine Murphy, Clough, on the death of her mother Evelyn Rocke, Tuam and to the Reynolds family on the death of Nora Roche (nee Reynolds), England. May they rest in peace.
