CLUB NOTES:

Galway had their second victory over Kildare in a week when they defeated them by 0-18 to 0-16 in the Division Two League final played in Croke Park on Sunday.  Well done all our Club players involved.  Liam Silke, Michael Farragher and Gary Sice started for Galway while Micheál Lundy and Ian Burke came on as substitutes.  Bernard Power and Ronan Steede were also on the Galway panel.

Galway added another Connacht title to their collection, having already won the FBD and under 21, when the county minor footballers defeated Sligo in the Connacht Minor Football League Final at Tuam Stadium on Saturday.  Oran Burke and Darragh Silke both played in the final.

Best wishes to all our players involved with the Galway under 21s who take on Kerry in the All-Ireland Semi-Final at Cusack Park Ennis on Saturday at 4:30pm.

Our seniors lost to St. James' in the quarter final of the John Dunne Cup played in Mervue last week by 1-13 to 2-8.

They take on St. James' again on Thursday evening in Corofin in the first round of the division 1 league.  The time is yet to be confirmed.

Congratulations to Kieran Fitzgerald who was selected at full back on the AIB Club Football Championship Team of the Year.

We commence the division 3 league on Sunday next when we play Barna in Barna at 2.00 pm.

Our juniors play Caherlistrane in the division 5 (north) league at 7.00 pm in Corofin on Friday evening.

The under 16s had a big win over Monivea-Abbey in the division 1 (north) league last week.

They played Ballinasloe in Ballinasloe on Tuesday evening.

They play Caherlistrane next Tuesday at 7.00 pm in Corofin.

The under 14s defeated Dunmore MacHales in division 1 (north) last week.

The under 14 division 3 team defeated Pádraig Pearses but lost out to Kilkerrin-Clonberne in recent games.

The Corofin GAA School of Excellence continues until Thursday in Belclare pitch.  This camp is open to boys and girls between 8 and 13.
