Galway footballers made it another great weekend for the County with the seniors being promoted to Division One of the league, the under 21s winning the last ever Connacht title and the minors defeating Roscommon in the league.

The Galway seniors defeated Kildare by 0-14 to 0-13 and the two sides will meet again in the Division Two decider next Sunday in Croke Park. Gary Sice and Michael Farragher started for Galway while Micheál Lundy, Ian Burke and Liam Silke all came on as substitutes.

Galway under 21s won an epic Connacht Football Final after extra time, defeating Sligo by 3-20 to 2-14 in Sligo.  Dylan McHugh, Kieran Molloy and Colin Brady all played their part in this historic win.  Well done to the three lads and all the team.
