CLUB NOTES:

The officers, management, players and full membership of Corofin GAA Club extend their deepest sympathy to Declan, Mary, Roisín and Ciara McHugh on the devastating loss of their beloved Jack following a tragic accident while on holidays in Munich.

We pray for the consolation of his immediate family, grandmother, Noreen Greaney, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We also pray for comfort for his team-mates and mentors in all the grades and codes in which he played.

At times like this we are shocked in disbelief and think that there are no words to express our grief and pain. But there are words and there are memories that we can hold onto. Memories that Jack loved played football with Ballinderry NS in the Raftery cup and in other primary school competitions. He loved playing with St Jarlath’s in the famous blue and white colours. He loved hurling with Sylane and he loved playing football with Corofin. He loved sport and he loved life. Lots of training, lots of games, sometimes winning, always competing, joyful days and treasured memories. We will hold these memories in our hearts forever and a day.

We wish to thank all those who helped in so many different ways over the last few days, at the reposing in the family home in Ballintubber on Monday, at the removal on Tuesday morning and at the funeral Mass in St. Colman’s Church Corofin.

May Jack’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Galway’s interest in this year’s senior football championship ended on Sunday when they were deservedly defeated by Tipperary in the All-Ireland quarter final on a final score of Tipperary 3-13 to Galway 1-10.

The Corofin GAA Underage School of Excellence takes place from Tuesday 9th Aug to Friday 12th Aug in Belclare pitch. Participation is open to registered Club members aged 8 to 13.   The coaches will be Corofin Senior players and Fundamental Fitness.
