CLUB NOTES:



Well done to our senior team who recorded a comprehensive win over Cárna-Caiseal in the first round of the Senior Football Championship on Saturday evening.  The final score was Corofin 2-20 to Cárna-Caiseal 0-08.  The Corofin goals came from Ronan Steede and Gary Sice.  We have been drawn to play Milltown in the second round.



 



The intermediate team lost out to Dunmore MacHales in Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening on a scoreline of Dunmore MacHales 2-12 to Corofin 1-12.  The Corofin goal was scored by Alan Molloy.  We play the losers of Williamstown V Menlough in the Losers Group. 



The senior and intermediates games are scheduled to take place on the weekend of 28-29 May.



 



The senior team are back in action on Thursday evening when they play Killererin in the



John Dunne Cup - Group 5 at 7.45 pm in Barnaderg.



 



Sincere thanks to our Club members who provided stewarding at the championship games which took place in Corofin on Sunday.   



 



Under 6 to 12 continue their training on Saturday mornings at 10.00 pm.  New players are always very welcome.



Please note that under 9 training also takes place in Corofin on Monday evenings at 6.30 pm.



 



As many of you know suicide is unfortunately prevalent in our community here in Galway.  As part of the National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP) strategy to prevent and reduce death by suicide, Corofin GAA club is hosting a 2 to 3 hour training programme for all members of the community in St. Colman's National School at 6.45pm on Wednesday evening.  We need parents and players to consider taking part.  Please consider it and pass the word on that the course is available to everybody over 18 and is free.

Best wishes to Corofin Musical Society who are staging the show 'Hot Mikado' in Dr. Duggan Hall, from Wednesday 18th May to Sunday 22nd May.  Shows nightly from Wednesday – Saturday at 8.00 pm, with a Sunday matinee at 4.30 pm.

The Club offers it’s sincere sympathy to Gary Nolan and family on the sad loss of Gary’s wife Stephanie Nolan (née Melia), Mervue & Anbally.



We also send our sympathy to the Silke family on the death of James (Jimmy) Silke Maunsell's Road, Galway and formerly Castlecreevy, Corrandulla, Co. Galway.
