CLUB NOTES:



The senior and intermediate teams continued their good run in the league with victories over Tuam Stars and Oughterard, respectively, at the weekend. 



 



In the division 1 league the seniors were level with Tuam Stars at half time – Corofin 2-4 to Tuam Stars 1-7, with the Corofin Goals coming from Martin Farragher and Ian Burke.  However, Corofin dominated the second half to run out 2-17 to 1-14 winners.   

Their next game in the league is on Friday 3 June against Cortoon Shamrocks in Corofin.



 



The intermediates, playing Oughterard in division 3 of the league, were leading  by 6 points to 4 at half time.  Second half goals from Joe Canney, Oisín Mannion and James Farragher ensured a comfortable victory on a score line of Corofin 3-9 to Oughterard 

1-6.



Our Junior B team, playing in division 8B (North) of the league, lost out to Milltown on Friday evening on a scoreline of Corofin 2-9 to Milltown 3-9.          



 



The minors play Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Corofin in the league this Wednesday evening at 7.00 pm.



 



The Club is providing "Safetalk" training to promote the reduction and prevention of Suicide.  It takes place on Wednesday, 25 May in St. Colman's National School at 6.45pm. This is a joint initiative between Corofin GAA, HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention & St. Colman's National School.  All members of the community are welcome to attend. Places are limited to 30.   (We will run more courses in other locations if required).   As places are limited you must apply to Ciarán Lynch (Corofin GAA Health & Wellbeing Officer) on 0879481683 or email ciaran.lynch@hse.ie. No experience is required. The course trainer is John Hynes.  The training takes 3 hours and is free.  Further information will be available on the Club’s website.    



 



The Club sends its congratulations to Mountbellew-Moylough, who captured the County Under 21 championship, following their victory over Salthill-Knocknacarra by 1-18 to 1-9 at the weekend.



 



The Club offers it’s sympathy to Liz Scahill, Ballinacregg on the death of her sister, Rita Lally, New York; to Chris McGrath, Carrowreagh on the death of his brother, John McGrath, Cork; and to Ann Daly, Clough on the death of her mother, Mary Healy, Mervue.  May they rest in peace.
