Annaghdown intermediate hurlers were beaten by Kilbeacanty by 0-15 to 1-11 in their second championship game played at Ballindereen on Saturday. This was a game that Annaghdown should have won but unfortunately missed chances proved costly. Kilbeacanty scored two late points to lead by 0-9 to 0-8 at half time with Jonathan Comer scoring three first half pointed frees for Annaghdown while points from play were scored by Enda Mullarkey, Aaron Hardiman, Cathal Coen, Niall O'Keeffe and Niall Kinneen. Annaghdown dominated the early stages of the second half but failed to score. Despite this, two Jonathan Comer frees as well as an Adrian Murphy goal had Annaghdown leading by 1-10 to 0-12 late on. Kilbeacanty then scored three unanswered points prior to a Jonathan Comer free being deflected over the bar for the final score of the game.

Team: Darren Groarke, Martin O'Neill, Martin Duggan, Ronan Newell, Fergal O'Doherty, Cathal Gaffney, Eoghan Pierce, Enda Mullarkey (0-1), Tomas Burke, Aaron Hardiman (0-1), Niall O'Keeffe (0-1), Adrian Murphy (1-0), Niall Kinneen (0-1), Jonathan Comer (0-6 all frees), Cathal Coen.
