Annaghdown were beaten by Milltown in the John Dunne Cup played in Cregg on Friday evening and are now out of the competition, playing against the breeze in the opening half we trailed by only one point 0-7 to 0-8 at the break, with scores from Niall Kinneen 0-3, Ger Raftery 0-2 and one each from Kevin McGrath and Fergal O’Doherty. The second half saw Milltown take command in the early stages and their more direct football paid off as they outscored Annaghdown by four points to two but goals from Frankie Burke and McGrath made it a one point game 2-9 to 1-13 but the visitors finished strong scoring 1-1 despite late scores from Kinneen and Frankie Burke, Milltown held on to win three points 2-14 to 2-11.
