We were involved in two county finals over last weekend in Tuam Stadium; our Minors on Sunday lived to fight another day after an exciting draw against Oughterard. A strong wind into the town goal favoured Oughterard in the opening half and they lead by 1-3 to 0-1 at half time with our point coming from Eoin Curry after twenty nine minutes but two minutes later Rory O’Connor had the only goal of the game to give Oughterard a five point advantage at the break.

Annaghdown with wind advantage in the second half opened with points from Curry and Nathan Fallon but Brian Lambert replied with a point for Oughterard on eight minutes to leave them leading by 1-4 to 0-3. We then shot five points without reply with three from Curry and one each from Conor Maloney and Darragh Fahy to give us a one point lead with nine minutes to go but Eric Lee send the game to a replay when he pointed with a minute to go, both sides had a chance to win the game in injury time but were off target. Final score:  0-8 to 1-5. The replay is fixed for Moycullen next Sunday at 1.30.
