Our junior team beat Monivea-Abbey in the North ‘A’ championship in Corofin on Friday evening, at half time we lead by 2-5 to 0-6 with goals from Michael Devaney and John Potter while Thomas Murphy shot three points with Johnny Murphy and Liam O’Flynn adding one each while Jamie Finn was Monivea-Abbey’s top marks man shooting five points. The second half saw Tom Forde score three points with our other points from Maloney, Devaney, and J Murphy as went on to win by 2-11 to 1-7. We now meet Athenry in the next round and our team was: S Curry, L Joyce, R Creaven, D Kerr, I O’ Dowd, S Burke, J Potter, L O’Flynn, T Forde, C Kerin, T Murphy, M Devaney, C Moloney, J Murphy, B Greaney.
We beat Milltown in the Div 1 league on Saturday by 2-11 to 1-11 in Milltown with scores from Frankie Burke 1-3, Brendan Dooley 1-1, Ger Raftery 0-4 and a point each from Enda Mullarkey, Niall Coleman and Damien Comer. We have games to come against St James, Menlough, Leitir Mór and Mountbellew-Moylough. The team was: T.J Forde, F O’Doherty, A Pender, J Creaven, E Mullarkey, S Collier, J Farragher, N Coleman, C Duggan, J Farragher, D Comer, A Burke, G Raftery, B Dooley, F Burke.
