U14 Football League: Annaghdown 2-7 Salthill 3-3 . Annaghdown opened their U14 league campaign with a hard earned, one point win over a fancied Salthill team. Annaghdown started well and owned the ball in the first half carving open the Salthill defence time and time again. At half time Annaghdown were good value for their 6 points to 1 lead with scores from Sean Mitchell (2), Adam Heneghan, Sean Dennigan, Adam Egan and Dara O'Sullivan a point each. Salthill opened well in the second and rattled in 3-2 without reply to lead by 6 points entering the last 10 minutes. Annaghdown dug deep and a fine run and goal from Diarmuid Kilcommins cut the deficit to 3. With time running out Robbie Barret landed a point and at the death David Tunney drove a long high ball into the square that was punched to the net by Dara Hegarty.  Next league game is away to Oughterard on Friday 4th April.  The team was: Jack McNicholas, Killian Naughton, David Tunney, James McCarthy, Diarmuid Kilcommins, Damian Curry, Luke Thornton, Adam Heneghan, Sean Dennigan, Adam Reilly, Adam Egan, Dara Hegarty, Robbie Barret, Sean Mitchell, Dara O'Sullivan.

Connacht Tain League:   Annaghdown 3-18  Longford Slashers 2-6 . In a clinical first half display Annaghdown took control from the get go and led 3-9 to 0-2 at the break. Adrian Murphy was really on fire in that first period scoring 1-4 from play while Peter Hession had a goal and point with the third goal coming from Conn Butler. Two points from Eoghan Pierceand a point apiece from Christy Burke and Jonathan Comer completed the scoring. Jonathan Comer was the chief marksman in the second half notching 0-5, four of them from the placed ball while Eoghan Pierce, Christy Burke, Peter Hession and Luke Heneghan also got on the scoresheet. Annaghdown now top the group with 9 points from 5 games and will play a semi-final in two weeks time. Team Cathal Og Coen, Michael Hanley, Shane Collier, Martin O Neill, Tomas Burke, John King, Alan Newell, Conn Butler (1-0), Brian Creaven, Adrian Murphy (1-4), Christy Burke (0-2), Bernard O'Brien, Peter Hession (1-2), Eoghan Pierce (0-3), Jonathan Comer (0-6, 5f). Connacht Tain League Annaghdown 4-6 St Dominic’s, Roscommon 1-10. Without ever reaching any the heights the will be necessary to make an impact at the business end of the year Annaghdown continued on their winning way in the Tain League on Friday night last. Leading 3-3 to 0-5 at half-time an Adrian Murphy goal after the break put the home side into a commanding lead but it was all Dominic’s after that with the Knockcroghery side getting 1-3 in the closing minutes to leave just five points between the sides at the finish.
